We do not ask you to believe that an Ed Brown is different because we say so. The difference is visible in the work: parts engineered and machined here, hand fitting and finishing, inspection and live-fire testing, and service after the sale. Nearly sixty years of 1911 specialization gives us a long memory for what works—and a family name we intend to protect for another generation.

Some mornings start like any other: coffee brewing, endless to-do list. But today’s different.
Today’s a range day with Dad. We’re both so busy, but we’ve made time for this for as long as I can remember.
I can still hear his voice the first time he told me, “Take care of it, son. It’s more than a tool.”
I guess I can’t be sure, but I think that’s when I fell in love with this sport and these days spent together.
Every line, every texture. It’s craftsmanship you can feel in your hands, but it’s the memories tied to it that stick with me.
We’d spend hours out there, him teaching me how to aim, how to steady not just my grip, but my mind, how to respect what I was holding.
It wasn’t just about shooting. It was as much about patience and focus as it was about life.
A lot of our gear has seen more days at the range than I can count. Some of it’s worn, but it’s strong. It actually reminds me of him and I.
These days have built something between us. He’d tell stories and crack jokes, then go quiet when it was time to aim. I learned so much in those silences.

Seeing him now walking out to the range with that same smile, it takes me back.
Feels like we’re not just father and son out here anymore, but almost like a team.
His 1911’s got years on mine, but you’d never know it. That’s the thing about an Ed Brown. It’s not just a firearm, it’s a legacy.
Every shot we take together, it’s like we’re adding another chapter. The sound of that 1911, it’s the heartbeat of those days.
I’ll never forget the lessons, the laughs, the way he’d look at me when I hit my target.
And I’ll never forget my Ed Brown 1911 because it’s not just mine, it’s ours.
One day, I’ll pass it down, too, with the same guidance he gave me.

Forged for Generations: The Ed Brown 1911 Legacy
From one bench to complete firearms.
Ed Brown Products grew by solving real problems in the 1911—first as a gunsmith, then as a parts maker, and finally as a manufacturer of complete pistols.
Brown’s Gun Shop begins.
Ed Brown received his FFL and began working as a part-time gunsmith while working by day as a tool-and-die maker, CNC programmer, and CAD/CAM designer.
Better parts become the business.
Ed left his day job to make better 1911 components full time. He was named Pistolsmith of the Year by his peers in 1991, and Ed Brown Products, Inc. was incorporated in 1992.
From parts to complete pistols.
Ed’s sons, Travis and Wade, joined the company full time. The family expanded engineering and manufacturing into complete Ed Brown 1911s, from traditional full-size pistols and the Kobra Carry to the smaller 9mm KC9.
The third generation continues the work.
Ed Brown remains family owned in Perry, Missouri, focused on premium 1911s, proven parts, direct accountability, and steady improvement without abandoning what already works.

Main components are engineered and precision machined in Perry, giving us direct control over materials, dimensions, consistency, and supply.
Fit by hand.
Precision machining creates the foundation. Experienced craftspeople fit, blend, finish, and assemble each pistol until the parts work as one gun.
Tested here.
Every finished pistol is inspected and live-fire tested before it leaves the factory. Quality is complete only when the gun proves itself as a system.
