Ed Brown Government 1911 mainspring housings are fully machined from solid steel bar stock rather than cast or molded. They are available in several profiles, surface treatments, and finishes.
Mainspring housings for full-size 1911 pistols
The Government-size housing is designed for drop-in installation in full-size 1911 pistols, including full-size Para-Ordnance models such as the P-14 and P-16. These housings can be used with steel or aluminum frames.
Choose the profile and treatment
Available configurations include:
- Arched and serrated
- Flat and smooth
- Flat with 25 LPI checkering
- Flat with Chainlink or Chainlink III treatment
- Flat with Snakeskin treatment
- Flat with Skip-Line treatment
Choose from blue or stainless-steel finishes using the product options above.
Note: Mainspring housing internals are not included and may be purchased separately.
