This kit includes our famous Perfection Hammer and mated Perfection Sear. These are the exact same parts used in Ed Brown pistols by our world-class gunsmiths.
896/897 Perfection Hammer
Completely machined from barstock, these hammers are guaranteed for life against breakage. Improved design with a beautiful chamfer machined all the way around the outside, and also inside the hole. Commander style spur, finely serrated for positive gripping surface. Sides are narrowed to eliminate drag on slide. Lowered strut pin hole reduces full-cock spring pressure. Hammer hooks precisely machined at 020-.022 perfectly square with sharp corners, ready for light, final stoning. Made from alloy steel or stainless steel, heat treated Rc 52-54. The perfect mate for this hammer is our #874 Perfection Sear.
874 Perfection Sear
This sear is precision EDM cut to exacting tolerances and is ready for installation right out of the package. No polishing of angles is required, saving you time and effort while ensuring optimal performance. Engineered for a precise fit, this sear is highly recommended for use with our Hammer #896 and #897, delivering a clean, crisp trigger pull with minimal hand fitting or tuning required. The geometry is optimized to reduce take-up and creep, resulting in a smooth, consistent break.
