VAMPIRE ENGRAVED LS10
(No longer available to order, for historical purposes only)
Once again, Master Engraver James White has outdone himself with his latest art piece. The VAMPIRE is based on our LS10, a 6” 10mm built from stainless steel and carefully hand fitted by our skilled craftsmen. The increased barrel and slide length take advantage of the higher velocity of the 10mm, while the longer sight radius allows for the tack driving accuracy, all making this exquisite pistol a joy to shoot. It is certainly powerful enough to handle any vampire, and the extra surface area allowed for Mr. White to exhibit his mastery. The virtually full coverage engraving displays scenes that conjure every reference you can imagine as it relates to vampires, a coffin, bat, gargoyle, priest and a cross with gold inlay - every detail is meticulously executed. This piece is a one-of-a-kind work of art.
hi john may from ed brown once again with the engraver extraordinaire mr james white um jim has something special for us we have a series i guess what would you call it the exhibition exhibition series the first one some of you may have seen it was the cobra this one's going to be a little bit different jim shared this idea with me gosh i guess it was three years ago at shot show or two years ago covid sort of put a big dent in the middle of our schedules and killed the shot show kind of in the middle but he had this idea for a project uh jim tell us about vampire vampire started out as one of the exhibition guns like we were talking about that was an idea which came from fabrique nationale the famous gun company over in belgium they once a year would give their master engravers a shotgun and say go crazy do whatever you want and this will be a one of a kind and we'll put it up for sale and there was great demand for these pieces because of the so limited uh amount so i thought well why don't we do that why don't john and travis and i kick around some ideas some theme ideas and uh let's do that so the cobra was the first one and that was based on a cobra model which that you know kind of went hand in hand so this is a 10 millimeter long slide and if you look at the serial number it is v a m p numeral one re vampire so anyway the uh the vampire theme uh is what the vampire gun is about and uh i kinda it allows me to stretch my creative talent so to speak and kind of go crazy so we started out um with the regular scroll here there and everywhere but there's like nine different uh scenes uh bulino scenes on the gun and it i've got stainless steel grips in order to get what i want i have to go with a metal and so the rips are solid stainless steel we have the mag well extension is engraved front and bottom come along to the engraving on the grip safety and some underneath here we come around and on the side here framing let's see if i can catch this a little bit here uh there i love the claws around the ed brown that i was going to have a pair of opposing gargoyles and i realized that to do that the detail just would be so small you couldn't see it unless you had a microscope right and it would it would be a fight to do so i went ahead and did some gargoyle claws to surround that and then on the opposite side we have a uh a crypt and we have a we have a vampire over here the crypt with a casket opening so the beast is loose and here we have aa giant bat a vampire bat nobody ever nobody ever said well you know vampires are supposed to turn into bats but nobody ever said are they big bats or are they little bats so i went with a big bat the difficulty here is if you can catch uh most of the difficulty would be here on the hand where the scroll is interrupted and his hand comes out over that that's probably one of the most difficult parts is to get that to you know to look correct so then on the apron we have the trigger guard engraved down here on the apron a christian cross necklace and then in front of that is a hanging vampire bat which worked out well with the long slide because a hanging bat is a long critter yeah so he worked out well there a little touch of engraving here on the on the barrel bushing as what we expected we do that on the signature models then on top we have uh we have a gargoyle sitting on top of a castle turret and then we have uh some clouds scouting over a moon with a vampire silhouette crossing the moon and the grand finale which we have here on top of the slot oh top of the barrel we have a silhouette a vampire silhouette and four slash marks there are four hash marks on a slash he's taken five with this with this weapon you have you've engraved the magazines as well right have two we have two magazines one would be the working magazine here has scroll on both sides all right and then this one has uh bulino bat would be the display magazine this one would be basically the working magazine the significance of this um is we're celebrating the ending of the ls10 which is our long slide 10 millimeter and jim is going to help us celebrate this by creating the vampire uh pay homage to the to that model uh it's been a terrific run for us um we're not in it because it's not popular we're in it because efficiency we need to focus on catching up our back orders and and delivering the guns that are on order and it does require a whole different array of um different slide different frame different everything so the decision was made to do that but that gem as always is a beautiful gun you outdo yourself every time for those of you that haven't looked at our exhibition pistol there's nothing that's more beautiful than an engraved 1911 in my book and sir you a marvelous job of doing that you got my vote so if you want to find out more about the vampire you can just email me john may at edbrowne.com and we'll be glad to tell you the details jim as always thank you sir thank you it's been great to show you the pistol
