We have worked with our master engraver to bring you a new example of beautiful hand engraving. Based on our timeless Classic Custom pistol, this pistol represents the ultimate in quality firearm craftsmanship.

In the words of our master engraver....“I was really pleased when Ed Brown Products offered me the chance to express further engraving creativity to share with their customers. For this Exhibition Model, I decided to take the best 1911 made and combine it with the elegance of the classic English ‘rose and scroll’ patterns found on the finest English shotguns and double rifles. The scroll is a departure from my regular style, but when combined with the rose bouquet, it is easily recognized as classic English. To be done correctly, English scroll should be broken up with open areas, and the rose bouquet with the unengraved spaces surrounding it does that nicely. Without those interruptions, the small and intricate English scroll simply becomes a texture, and is not nearly so appealing. The stainless steel Custom Classic platform emulates the ‘French Gray” finish that is used on the finest English and European weaponry. This beautifully displays engraving, but without the danger of rusting that plagues the French Gray finish. I think this Exhibition edition is the most classically elegant 1911 ever.“

CLASSIC CUSTOM

The Classic Custom includes all the classic modifications. Known as our flagship firearm, this is our finest work, and many of our repeat customers say it's the finest pistol available anywhere, at any price. It has all the bells and whistles, and includes those extra enhancements that you don't really need, but really want! Many customers think of it as the proverbial safe queen, but don't let that fool you - it can take just as much hard service as any pistol out there. The unique slide treatment sets it apart from any other pistol. The sides of the slide are painstaking brought to a gleaming high polish finish, by hand, to contrast and enhance the glass bead finished frame. This gorgeous high polish finish really makes the Classic Custom stand out! The top of the slide features a custom rib for a no glare runway effect that naturally guides your eye to the gold bead front sight, and is finished out with 50 LPI serrations on the back to match the adjustable rear sight, and eliminate distracting light reflection.  The frame is elegantly finished in 25 LPI checkering.   We think you'll agree the Classic Custom represents the ultimate in quality firearm craftsmanship at its finest!

Adjustable Rear Sight

These adjustable sights are identical to the old original Bo-Mar adjustable sights, which are no longer available. They are made to withstand the shock of service ammunition, with rugged, dependable features designed to please the competitive pistol shooter. Works perfect with our #1624 front sight. We recommend installation by a competent gunsmith. Available in blue only. Beware of the cheap copies being marketed for less. These are the highest quality and tightest tolerances available. Fully adjustable for both drift and elevation. Engraved “ED BROWN” on the side. Notch width is approximately 0.115. Dovetail is 60 degrees x 0.359.

Front Sights

The best dovetail front sights available. Dependable fixed sights for all types of 1911 pistols. Makes for an outstanding sight picture. 65 degree dovetail, .330 base, .075 depth, .180 sight height, .125 blade width, .600 overall length. Sight locks in place securely with a single roll pin. No more hammering or swaging. Can be installed to work with any rear sight.

Firing Pin Stop

A high tolerance heat treated alloy steel firing pin stop for all 1911 pistol types. Made to max tolerance on width for a snug fit with the extractor. For Series 70, will fit 80 series guns with slight modification. Guaranteed for life against breakage.

Titanium Firing Pin

The 825-T is precision turned from titanium, and hardened for maximum tensile strength and increased shock-resistance. Light weight titanium makes for faster ignition by lowering lock time.

1911 Firing Pins

Factory firing pins are often weak and subject to failure. These top quality firing pins are precision turned from heat-treated tool steel. Proper weight for positive ignition with heavy duty springs and any type primer. Usable with all 1911 type pistols including Colt Series 80 and 70. Springfield 38 Super and 9mm slides use the oversize diameter pin for heavy loads. At present we are the only manufacturer making the correct size pin for the Springfield 38 Super slides. All Ed Brown, Baer and newer Caspian slides use the 38 Super firing pin, Part #825. If you are unsure which pin you need, measure the diameter near the tip where the pin strikes the primer and compare to the listings. Ed Brown firing pins have a LIFETIME guarantee against breakage.

Extended Ejectors

An extended ejector is a must for a reliable pistol. Ensure flawless ejection each and every round. Made from heat treated 4140 alloy steel. Requires minor fitting.

Extractors

1301-SS

One of the most common causes of malfunction in the 1911 pistol is a poor extractor. Install an Ed Brown extractor and eliminate feeding/extraction problems before they start. The design has been optimized based on over 50 years experience in building, and operating, the 1911 handgun.

Fully machined from aircraft quality heat-treated steel bar stock for long wear and extra strength. Guaranteed for life against breakage.

Machined and heat-treated into a “pre-bent” configuration to greatly reduce or eliminate gun-smithing or tuning.

Available in blue, and stainless steel, for calibers 45 ACP, 9mm, 38Super, 40S&W, and 10mm.
