Ed Brown Products, Inc. is excited to collaborate with ZEV Technologies, Inc. in the design of a new, aggressively styled 1911. The new ZEV 1911 was designed to appeal to fans of what is popular in custom polymer pistols, a market where ZEV is a clear leader. It is the result of ZEV’s unique styling applied to the world’s finest 1911.  Based on ZEV’s most popular design, the Dragonfly, the design shares the aggressive styling while maintaining the structural rigidity of the 1911 slide. Taking a cue from the ZEV look, the dimpled barrel makes for a striking effect, being visible through the side and top slide ports. The top of the slide showcases our new 7-top slide cuts, and is topped with a Trijicon RMR sight and tall night sights. The integral rail frame features edgy machining accents on the rail, while the frontstrap is adorned with the FX1 Snakeskin. A threaded suppressor ready barrel complete with a ZEV thread protector, recessed slide stop with serrated pin, and a blended one-piece magwell housing, finish out this show-stopping pistol. As with all Ed Brown 1911's, it is hand-fit with fully machined parts, and backed by our Lifetime Warranty.

Champion “Molon Labe” 1911

CHAMPION MOLON LABE 1911

(No longer available for sale, for historical purposes only)

Champion Molon Labe

We are pleased to introduce a limited edition 1911 from Ed Brown Products, Inc. in collaboration with Dave Champion. This special edition 1911 is called the "Champion Molon Labe 1911", and is built according to Dave's specifications.

Dave Champion has 30 years of experience in the firearms training community, and is a certified law enforcement handgun and sub-machine gun instructor. Dave is a former U.S. Army Airborne Ranger, with a law enforcement background. He has also worked as a bounty hunter. Over the years Dave has taught firearms skills to military, law enforcement, and civilians. He operated his own firearms school in California for years and currently teaches firearms and tactics at the largest firearms training academy in the nation. Dave is known for his commitment to the 1911 handgun. In his many years working with the 1911, Dave has seen every variable and permutation; what works and what doesn't. The Champion Molon Labe 1911 is the result of those many years of testing. Whether it be for personal carry, on-going training, or home defense, the Champion Molon Labe 1911 cannot be beat! Dave Champion is also the host of the Dave Champion Show, a conservative talk radio show that often discusses the Right To Keep and Bear Arms, as well as firearms training.

A personal message from Dave Champion...
A handgun tends to be a more personal weapon because we carry it daily. Quality handguns are just too expensive to keep purchasing until you find the right one. A large part of your confidence, comfort, and expertise with a handgun is tied to selecting the right pistol. In order to help you select one handgun you can count on in every situation, I have teamed up with firearms manufacturer Ed Brown Products. Ed Brown Products is now offering the Champion/Molon Labe 1911 pistol. The Champion/Molon Labe pistol is a fighting tool! It is the product of more than 100 years of firearms evolution, coupled with Ed Brown Product's advanced technology and top-quality craftsmanship. Not only is this pistol a top-of-the-line uniquely American fighting tool, but it is hand-built to my specifications - specifications that are the result of my 30 years of experience with combat firearms and training. It is the pistol I carry. You can purchase this pistol with the assurance that you will never need to buy another (though you may love it so much you decide you want another)! And you're buying it from an American family business that manufacturers the components and assembles your pistol right here in the good ol' US of A!

Here are the attributes of this outstanding fighting pistol:
•  The classic 1911 design, 5" Government model.
•  Hand fit and assembled by master pistolsmiths.
•  Front and rear cocking serrations.
•  The famous Greek phrase "Molon Labe" in Greek letters, laser engraved on the left side of the slide. Translated as "Come and Take Them", it is a classical expression of defiance, and is similar to the phrase "From my cold dead hands". It was written by Plutarch that King Leonidas of the Spartans replied "Molon Labe" in response to the Persian army's demand that the Spartans lay down their weapons at the Battle of Thermopylae in 480 B.C. Since then, Molon labe has frequently been used by many leaders in order to express an army's or nation's determination to not surrender.
•  "Champion" laser engraved on the right side of the slide under the ejection port.
•  Custom G10 grips.
•  Ed Brown's custom snakeskin treatment on the front strap and mainspring housing for both comfort and a rock-solid grip in any situation (without chewing up your hands in long hours/days of training).
•  Tritium front night sight. Having tritium only in the front sight allows for faster and more reflexive close quarters response in low-light situations.
•  Wide (.156) notch, plain black rear sight by 10-8 Performance. The wide notch provides faster front sight acquisition at typical handgun fighting distances. It's also great for older shooters whose eyes may not be quite as sharp as they once were. The rear of the sight is serrated to prevent glare across the back of the rear sight.
•  Solid aluminum trigger.
•  Slide stop is serrated on bottom, which matches serrations on top of slide stop.
•  Ed Brown's famous high-rise beavertail grip safety with memory grooves.
•  Ed Brown Maxi-well magazine funnel for rapid magazine changes - because at pistol fighting distances time matters.
•  Single side thumb safety is standard, ambi safety optional so you can shoot effectively with either hand.
•  Pistol is finished with Ed Brown's high quality black "Gen III" coating for appearance and wear resistance.
•  Retail price: $2595

"As to the species of exercise, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise, and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun, therefore, be the constant companion to your walks." -- Thomas Jefferson

Massad Ayoob Signature Edition

MASSAD AYOOB SIGNATURE EDITION

(No longer available for sale, for historical purposes only)

Massad Ayoob Signature Edition

We are pleased to introduce a limited edition 1911 from Ed Brown Products, Inc. in collaboration with Massad Ayoob. This special edition 1911 is called the Massad Ayoob Signature Edition, and is based on our popular Executive Carry series, with a few enhancements as per Massad Ayoob's specifications.

Massad Ayoob has been law enforcement editor for American Handgunner magazine for more than 30 years, and handgun editor of Guns for a similar period. He is also a long-time associate editor of Combat Handguns and Guns & Weapons for Law Enforcement, and for more than a decade has been firearms editor for Backwoods Home magazine. He is the author of many books, including "In the Gravest Extreme", considered the authoritative text on the use of defensive deadly force by private citizens and, most recently, the "Gun Digest Book of Concealed Carry". He co-stars on Tom Gresham's show Personal Defense TV, and is the star of many training films. Ayoob won the coveted title of Outstanding American Handgunner of the Year in 1998. He has worked successfully for 30 years as an expert witness defending accused cops and armed citizens after self-defense shootings, and served for some 20 years as chair of the firearms committee for the American Society of Law Enforcement Trainers. He has served as director of Lethal Force Institute since 1981.

Massad has won many state and regional combat shooting championships, some with the 1911 .45 pistol, and is one of only seven Five-Gun Masters in IDPA. When Ed Brown Products, Inc. asked him what he would want in an ideal 1911 pistol for concealed carry, home defense, and even duty use, Ayoob picked the 4.25" barrel with the Bobtail frame as the ideal starting platform. Based on three decades of defending often false allegations of accidental discharges by his clients, he specified a 4.5 pound trigger pull, demanding a smooth stroke and a crisp let-off. An extra-heavy duty firing pin spring was specified to failsafe against "inertia discharge" should the pistol be dropped or struck. Night sights were a must to prevent errant shots in poor light, and because the job of the pistol is to send the bullet true to the target reliably, he insisted on 2" or better 25-yard accuracy with JHP ammo, with total feeding and cycling reliability. Checkered frame straps to prevent shifting in the hand, Micarta stocks designed with the same purpose in mind, and an ambidextrous thumb safety, complete the package. Of course, this all-stainless pistol comes chambered for Ayoob's favorite defensive pistol cartridge, the .45 ACP. The result is the Massad Ayoob Signature Model, the latest purpose-built top-quality 1911 from Ed Brown Products, Inc..

The Massad Ayoob Signature Edition is the solution for those who prefer a smaller model 1911, but insist on complete reliability. The slide has been reduced to the minimum possible (4.25") without significantly impairing the legendary reliability of the 5" slide. The frame has been modified with the innovative Ed Brown Bobtail® housing which reduces the projecting butt of the mainspring housing without sacrificing the full size frame and magazine capacity. The Bobtail® minimizes the print under your jacket when carrying and reduces weight. Officer's frames reduce magazine capacity and limit grip, while keeping the projecting, sharp butt. Slides shorter than 4.25" are notorious for reduced reliability. These problems are eliminated with the Ed Brown Commander Bobtail® configuration, which reflects the genius of John Browning with an innovative modern flair. The functional simplicity has yet to be matched. Unique with the Executive series pistols is the 25 LPI checkered frame and "half checkered" Bobtail®. This pattern is not too rough on the hands, but not too fine for a secure grip. The Executive Carry is truly at the top of it's field. Get promoted to an Executive Carry - it's a serious tool for the competent professional!

The Massad Ayoob Limited Edition features the following:
•  4.25" Commander model slide, single stack commander Bobtail® frame. The John Browning traditional design innovatively modified for concealed carry, without significantly detracting from reliability or accuracy.
•  Weight: approximately 35 ounces with an unloaded magazine inserted.
•  Exclusive 25 LPI checkering on forestrap and Bobtail®.
•  Matte finished slide for low glare, with traditional "square cut" serrations on rear of slide only.
•  Black G10 grips with checkering.
•  Massad Ayoob signature laser engraved on right hand side of slide, Massad Ayoob Signature Edition engraved on left hand side of slide.
•  Fixed dovetail 3-dot night sights with high visibility white outlines.
•  Retail price: $2,720
•  Each firearm comes with a copy of the Gun Digest Book of Concealed Carry, by Massad Ayoob!

From the publisher....Massad Ayoob is one of the pre-eminent fighting handgun trainers in the world. He operates the Lethal Force Institute, which trains both U.S. and international clients. His methods of reflexive, high speed yet accurate shooting has been adopted by the U.S. army as part of its standard pistol-training course. Massad has written many books for Krause Publications, including Combat Handgunnery, The Gun Digest Book of Sig-Sauer, and The Gun Digest Book of Beretta Pistols. In addition to tactical aspects of self-defense, practical information like choosing the right firearm and ammunition, used gun purchases, and all legal aspects of self-defense with a gun are also extensively covered in this complete and authoritative look at concealed carry.

Jeff Cooper 2007 Commemorative

JEFF COOPER COMMEMORATIVE

(No longer available for sale, for historical purposes only)

Jeff Cooper right side of slide

We are pleased to introduce this one year only, special edition 1911 from Ed Brown Products, Inc. in memory of the late Colonel Jeff Cooper. This commemorative 1911 is officially endorsed by the family of Jeff Cooper, and was designed in collaboration with them to render, as authentically as possible, what Jeff Cooper himself desired in a 1911. Over the course of several months a number of meetings took place between the Browns, the Coopers, and many of Jeff's closest friends. The goal was to use Jeff's personal notes and experiences to create the ideal 1911 for combat shooting and personal defense. The final product speaks for itself. If you were to own only one 1911, this would be the one. A special leather bound copy of Jeff's famous book "Principles of Personal Defense", will be included with the gun. A $150 value, it is a concise summary of his teachings, and the core principles needed to defend oneself, such as alertness, aggressiveness, and ruthlessness. A significant portion of the proceeds from this project will go to the Jeff Cooper Legacy Foundation.

In 1958 Jeff Cooper originated the sport of practical pistol competition. From this activity he formulated the Modern Technique of the Pistol, now generally observed throughout the world. Jeff Cooper himself was active in teaching and spreading the new method throughout the Western World. In 1976 he founded the International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC). In 1977 he founded the American Pistol Institute at Gunsite in Arizona, where he resided until his death on September 25, 2006. Internationally respected as the "Gunner's Guru", Cooper's monthly column was a favorite of many readers in Guns & Ammo magazine. After having served many years as a director of the National Rifle Association of America, he was elected to the Executive Council. Jeff Cooper was a highly gifted writer and left behind a large body of writings about his thoughts and experiences. The official website of Jeff Cooper is www.jeffcooperbooks.com. There you will find a more extensive biography of the man, and a comprehensive guide to his writings.

The first Jeff Cooper Commemorative's will begin shipping on September 25, 2007, the one year anniversary of his passing. After September 25, 2008, no more will ever be available for order. Orders may be placed now, and we recommend getting your name on the list so as not to miss the opportunity to own one of these special guns commemorating a legend of our time.

Sheriff Jim Wilson Special

SHERIFF JIM WILSON SPECIAL

(No longer available for sale, for historical purposes only)

Sheriff Jim Wilson Special 1911

We are pleased to introduce the first special edition 1911 from Ed Brown Products, Inc. in collaboration with Sheriff Jim Wilson. This special edition 1911 is called the Sheriff Jim Wilson Special, and is based on our popular Executive Elite series, with a few enhancements as per Jim Wilson's specifications.

Sheriff Jim Wilson brings a lifetime of practical law enforcement and shooting experience to the table. During his long and successful career he has served as patrolman, detective sergeant, narcotics sergeant, administrative lieutenant, jail commander, and finally chief deputy. He served two terms as elected sheriff from 1989-1996 in Crockett county Texas. After retiring from duty at the end of 1996, Jim began to write articles for various gun magazines, and in 1997 became an exclusive writer for the reputable Shooting Times magazine. Having carried and used the 1911 pistol for so long in the line of duty, Jim has developed some solid, proven ideas about what a fighting gun needs to be. In Jim's view, the 1911's built by Ed Brown Products, Inc. are the embodiment of those ideas. In the race for more gadgets like rails, lights, and lasers, these pistols stand above as a tribute to what a pure fighting gun should be. "Long ago, I came to realize that this company had a serious commitment to building quality firearms" says Jim Wilson, "their selection of only the best materials, minimum tolerances, and proper fitting, ensures the shooter of having the best firearm possible".

The Jim Wilson Special has everything you need, and nothing you don't. It's a no-nonsense firearm, and the elegant design has a beautiful simplicity that has yet to be matched. Unique with the Executive series and the Jim Wilson Special is the 25 LPI checkered frame. This pattern is not too rough on the hands, but not too fine for a secure grip. The timeless design reflects the genius of John Browning with modern flair. The Jim Wilson Specials have a few enhancements to our basic Executive Elite model, as per the preferences of Sheriff Jim Wilson. The enhancements include an arched mainspring housings with deep cut grooves, a plain black Novak rear sight with front night sight, and Tru-Ivory grips. The slide has a special "Sheriff Jim Wilson" signature engraving. This special model will only be available for a limited time.

The Jim Wilson Special features the following:

Ed Brown 2nd Amendment 1911

ED BROWN 2ND AMENDMENT 1911

(No longer available for sale, for historical purposes only)

One of the most important rights protected by the 2nd Amendment is personal and home defense. However, firearm enthusiasts know all too well that the right to "keep and bear arms" is constantly under attack from politicians and activists. Freedom is at the heart of the 2nd Amendment, and we are honored to pay tribute to that freedom with the introduction of the Ed Brown 2nd Amendment 1911.

This limited edition, 5" government model, features Snakeskin treatment on the frontstrap and magwell housing, a "Tactical Edge" rear sight paired with a green fiber optic front sight, and a recessed slide stop. The "Don't Tread On Me" image is engraved on the right sight of the slide, while the left side features the 2nd Amendment text. "Freedom" is engraved on the barrel bushing as a final touch.

Don't miss the opportunity to own this tribute to one of the most important freedoms we possess.

With all the bells and whistles, it includes those extra enhancements that you don't really need, but really want! The unique slide treatment sets it apart from any other pistol. The sides of the slide are painstaking brought to a gleaming high polish finish, by hand, to contrast and enhance the glass bead finished frame. To enhance the beauty of this gun, our master engraver applies an elegant hand relief engraving to the flats of the slide. The top of the slide is flattened and finely grooved to provide a no glare runway effect that naturally guides your eye to the front sight. The rear of the slide is finely serrated 50 lines per inch to match the deep buried adjustable sight and eliminate distracting light reflection.
